Description

This charming and deceptive 2 bedroom , four star,19th century cottage has recently been renovated and is finished and furnished to a high standard and provides comfortable accommodation for couples and small families alike. Wren Cottage enjoys an enclosed rear garden with a large decked area, ideal for alfresco dining or relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening. There are 2 bedrooms and two living rooms. Off road parking for one large car or two small ones.

Situated within the sought after village of Whitwell, the popular The White Horse Inn, which claims to be the oldest on the Island, is a short stroll away and provides good home cooked food. There is also a pretty church.

The neighbouring village of Niton is approximately one mile away and facilities there include a convenience store, butchers, post office, chemist, book shop/general store and White Lion Inn.

Whitwell makes an ideal base for those wishing to explore the many miles of picturesque countryside that surround the village. The Isle of Wight Coastal path is a 65 mile (105 km) long trail, following a circular route around the perimeter of the Island, and making an inland diversion at Niton, where access to a cycling route is also possible. Nearer to home, several local walks start within yards of Wren Cottage.

Nearby places of interest include St. Catherine’s Lighthouse, Blackgang Butterfly Farm, Blackgang Chine Theme Park, the Sawmill Museum, St. Catherine’s Quay Museum, Isle of Wight Glass and much more.

Ventnor is a short drive away, offering a variety of eateries, museums, entertainment, sports, leisure and crescent shaped sand and shingle beach.

Short breaks are available by arrangement from mid October to mid April but excluding Christmas, New Year, Easter and school half terms. Please telephone for availability and price.
