Sandown is the perfect place to enjoy a traditional seaside holiday with safe waters and pier offering cafes, bars, all-weather amusement and, if desired, nightlife. The town is brimming with attractions to entertain visitors, most of them right on the beachfront, so you never have to stray too far from the golden sands. The resort of Shanklin is close by, you can walk along the cliff path between the two resorts.
The picturesque old village of Godshill is only a short drive away.
For sports enthusiasts there is sailing, surfing, body boarding, microlighting, golf and walking. Also in Sandown is Dinosaur Isle with life size models and Isle of Wight Zoo famous for its Tiger Sanctuary. There is also an 18 hole golf course and Leisure Centre.
For eating and drinking there is an abundance of great pubs, especially along the esplanade, many offering freshly caught fish.
